Membership in the National Association of Hungarian Journalists is always on an application basis. The Admission Committee will decide on the application of a natural person by way of individual assessment. In the event of a rejected application, the applicant may lodge a complaint with the Presidency against the decision. The rejected application may be repeated after one year.

Membership applications are submitted electronically. Applications can be submitted continuously, the committee meets every two months. Applicants will be notified of the decision by e-mail or by post. The journalist id card can be picked up after the membership fee has been paid.
